Surya Namaskar (“Salute to the Sun”) is a practice of offering prayers to Lord Sun through a sequence of movements and poses practiced as physical exercise in various styles. It is performed as a part of the daily morning rituals by ancient priests and people of India. The word “Surya” refers to “Lord Sun” and “Namaskar” refers to “Salutation”. Surya Namaskar is performed as praising and prayers to Lord Sun for rewarding good health and prosperous life.
